future parents

I love how during the holidays people actually have time for each other and you get to meet up with friends again. Mmm, the ones you haven't seen in months. Yay. :)

Anyway, seeing some of my friends from long ago (years!) makes me realized how much college has changed all of us. I see certain characteistics have exacerbated (imo) or are just much, more apparent. I guess college loosens us up, or has for me.

Anyway, after not having seen some of my friends for the longest time, I could actually see ... some parental qualities in them. I could see some of them jumping to conclusions without any basis and forbidding their kids to do likewise (I'm always amused about whatever newfangled medical marvel those chinese newspapers tell my mom, and then a mixture of annoyance/disbelief when I find out she's serious.) And then there are some that I can see embarassing their kids. Heh.

I mean, it's just interesting. I've always wondered what my parents, or what certain people were like years ago (they couldn't have always been this mature? childlish?), and well, I can kind of see that now.

Have you guys ever felt/seen that before, especially if you've moved? I see ... repeating traits in people. It's how some people remind me of others. They way they react (NL #3). It's reminiscent of other qualities. Sigh, I'm saying the same thing over and over again. I. Need. To. Be. More. Succinct.

  1. i've definitely felt the same way about some of my friends. it's rather shocking how much they change in the space of a year, and then it makes you think what people would be like whom you haven't seen in YEARS. but then it's always nice to see they are still who they are... even though that means they're still as immature as ever... it's funny how people turn out, when you talk to them now and compare them to how they used to be. their dreams and aspirations. wanting to be artists, rock stars, writers, actors... and then turning out to be majoring in economics or something like that. OR some of them actually right along that path. how amazing is that!?
